This bite-size interview features an interview with Action Director and stunts professional Larnell Stovall to talk all about his behind-the-scenes role in the Peacock series The Continental. Larnell talks with us about how seeing action films growing up and, specifically, the film Blade, inspired him to seek a career in entertainment, his favorite stunt sequence in the series, as well as sharing advice for young actors looking to expand their horizons and delve into stuntwork.
“Do your research first, have patience and make sure you’re bringing some type of skill to the table,” he advises actors looking to delve into stunt work. “Our job is to enhance what’s there. Sometimes we don’t have time to create something that’s not there. So whether you take boxing, karate, jiu jitsu, tae kwon do, give us something to work with because it helps you compete with people who come in raw that have no athletic ability that want to do the same thing you want to do. So give yourself that edge, take classes on weekends, weeknights, just find something!”
