Rising television and Broadway star Nicholas Barasch began his career with a remarkable Broadway debut at the tender age of 12 in the revival of West Side Story and has since starred in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, She Loves Me and Hadestown, before joining the cast of The CW’s hit series “Riverdale” as the preppy redhead Julian Blossom.
Julian shares some of the challenges and rewards of stepping into the iconic series during its last season, noting the warm reception from his fellow cast and crew. Barasch then revealed that he already knew one of the series stars, Casey Cott, which provided him with a sense of relief. “Casey was this wonderful conduit and introduced me to everyone,” he recalled. “It’s a lot of good people on that set. It then became just a ‘me’ problem because I then had to work through my own nerves because no one there made me feel that way at all.”
In a candid moment, Nicholas discussed battling self-doubt, a common experience among artists. He stressed the importance of a strong support system, encompassing friends, family, and mentors, in helping him navigate such moments. He also mentioned that reconnecting with his passion for acting and storytelling has been instrumental in restoring his self-confidence.
